Hi Parents-

If you are like most moms and dads, you want your children to grow into responsible, successful adults, right? But how, as a parent, do you accomplish that?

My name is Julie Watson Smith. I’m a Leadership and Lifestyle Mentor as well as a Character Education Specialist. And, like you, I’m a parent.

After I had children, I became that mom who read, watched, and used every new parenting resource that claimed to make my child succeed. Some of these resources had good information; More often than not, though, I felt that this material wasn’t hitting the mark with my kids. Much of what was out there was how to teach my kids to brush their teeth or take out the trash. Sure, those things are great, but I wanted more. I wanted a foundation that supported these actions. I wanted something that would connect our family and support my children in any situation or choice. (Guess what, I wasn’t alone. Countless parents wanted this same thing!)

I delved myself into personal, family and business growth to discover a solution – and honest-to-goodness, real-life solution. It didn’t take long before I found it. (And, on a flyer sent home from my children’s school, no less!) It is something so simple, yet so powerful that it did more than empower my children; it transformed my life.

So, what is “it?’ Character Education.

Sure, you may be thinking, “My children’s school already has a character program.” Great! Responsibility, respectfulness and other character traits are meant to be more than lessons, though; they are a lifestyle. And, it's up to us, as parents, to instill that willing, winning mindset by providing opportunities for our families to put character-in-action.

Again, this is more than just having your children do a few chores. It's about kids making proactive – not reactive - choices. It’s about kids making a contribution to their family and their community. It’s about kids feeling valued and appreciated. And, when this happens, everyone benefits. Families feel connected. Kids feel empowered, and incredibly strong communities are built.

This isn’t something that happens overnight, though, which is why I created a series of fun programs and cool products for kids, parents and families. Centered around the five core habits of character, these programs and products address essential life skills and fundamental leadership qualities for kids and parents while having tons of fun along the way.

A few of our most popular programs and products include:

Character Clubs: Adventures in character for children grades K-5 and Tweens & Teens.
Quintessential Character: A learning experience for parents who are ready lead and live the life that connects their family and empowers their children.
Character Camps: Serious sleep-away fun for families who are ready to lead the difference.
Karmic Acts of Character and Character Coins: Fantastic family companions to introduce and infuse character into your life.

Kids need your support in developing and strengthening character, because, whether by default or design, for better or for worse, we are shaping our child’s future. I hope you’ll join me in shaping that future in character. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at info@characterinc.com or 877-485-5222.

With gratitude,
